Zaha Hadid Design, in conjunction with 10 Corso Como New York, will unveil a bespoke installation to showcase the ZHD collection of design objects.
Hadid created her own label, first launched in 2014, to respond to a demand for her work at a commercial level. When speaking of her product design Hadid explained:
‘My product designs and architecture have always been connected; some of our earliest projects were designs for products and interiors. These design pieces are very important to me and my team. They inspire our creativity by providing an opportunity to express our ideas through different scales and through different media; an essential part of our on-going design investigation’
Referencing the fluid lines of ZHD’s homeware pieces, the 3-meter-tall installation reinterprets 10 Corso Como’s logo through ZHD’s distinctive language. Located at the entrance of the pop-up space, the installation features CNC milled surfaces and is enhanced by sinuous floor and wall graphics that coherently unify the ensemble.
When speaking of the collaboration with 10 Corso Como New York, ZHD Director Maha Kutay explains:
‘When Zaha travelled to Milan, a visit to 10 Corso Como was always a must destination. It was an experience for her to discover the latest collaborations with 10CC in fashion, jewellery, and design. With the opening of her first built architectural project in NYC on The High Line, we’re thrilled to work in conjunction with 10 Corso Como New York to showcase her designs and deepen the connection to the city.’
